When to Sign Up

Missing your enrollment window can mean coverage gaps and late penalties. Here's what to know.

Your IEP is a 7-month window: 3 months before the month you turn 65, the month itself, and 3 months after. This is your best chance to enroll in Part A and Part B without penalties.
If you or your spouse are still working and have employer coverage past 65, you can delay Medicare without penalty and use a SEP to enroll when that coverage ends.
If you missed your IEP and don't qualify for a SEP, you can sign up during the GEP (January 1 – March 31 each year), with coverage starting July 1. Late enrollment penalties may apply.
Each year from October 15 – December 7 (Annual Enrollment Period), you can switch, join, or drop Medicare Advantage and Part D plans. Changes take effect January 1.

📅 Not sure when your window opens? Call us or submit a request — we'll tell you exactly where you stand and what to do next.
